Hi,
I'm building up a Norton Manx from 1961 and look for the right tank Label.
Should I use "Norton" with or without "reg. trade mark" ?
When did they change the label ?
Regards
Jochen

Thanks for your search Charles. If I ever have to repaint my -59 Manx, I'm still uncertain.

Hello Jochen, I use the No…
Hello Jochen,I use the Norton logo with "reg. trade mark" on my Norton Manx 30M from 1961.Three former Austrian Champions on Norton told me that it is correct for 1961.
Ken McIntosh also use the logo with "reg. trade mark" on his replica petrol tanks.
Be careful with the tank lining. At the rear it is different to the shape of the petrol tank!
I hope to see you and your finished bike at the Red Bull Racing Circuit in August at the Int. Rally in Austria.
GreetingsRoland

For what it is worth, I have had a close look at the pictures in Mick Walkers book of the Manx Norton and at pictures in 50's copies of 'Motorcycling' and Motor Cycle' magazines.Pre featherbed Manx has '' registered trademark'' as does the first featherbed but later, post 1960 AMC era ones, like yours,do not.
