Yep, very short and positioned directly under the gear lever, leaving maximum potential for embarrassment and repair costs...

If you find an acceptable way round it, post it on this forum, as i think quite a lot of us will be interested....

Not to sure whether you mean appearance of side stand or the lean angle of the bike, which has always worried me even after I had it shortened. Perhaps the chrome after market one at £150. Would address these problems. Any one fitted one?

My lean angle is ok, but im very careful when i park the bike, as the stand is very short, never anywhere its not just about flat. Its particularly annoying at my local petrol station, as its on a slope across the forecourt. Theres one super plus unleaded pump that is flat, so I have to sit there like a lemon waiting for it to come free, even if all the others are empty.

Yep had a mishap when bike was fully loaded (luggage) parked slightly down slope facing in a very strong wind, as I got off the bike a massive gust hit from the right side pushing the bike against the one leg I was standing on. I got away with a broken clutch lever and a tiny ding on the exhaust, I never park anywhere but on the dead flat. Terry
