Rear brake drum/hub assembly

Forums

I know I'm being lazy but I'm trying not to dismantle everything if there's no need to. On a '55 ES2 do the 3 studs which hold the rear hub to the brake drum have a retaining nut inside the drum or are they simply held by the shrouded nut external to the drum? The parts drawing is unclear as it shows an illustration number of S24 for the internal retaining nut on the listing but there is no such part on the drawing whereas for the models 1, 16H and 18 they do have the nut. I'm of the view that the stud has a shoulder and is held tight by the external shrouded nut. Any comments appreciated. George

As you know mine is the older cotton reel type but as far as I can recall there is no nut just a shoulder that was peined with a centre punch.

Thanks Dan. I've done them up now so I'll try and have a run this evening and then check them. Having lost 2 of the previous 3 nuts I'm being a bit wary! George
