Re: Coil Replacement when fitting Boyer Bransden

Forums

Best coils for my 1975 Commando MK3

I have purchased a Boyer MK4 from NOC

Before I fit it I was questioning whether the current coils could be improved on?

The coils fitted are 17M6 stamped 45220A

They measure just over 1 ohm each but I suspect one of them could be damaged internally as the body has been tightly clamped in the past.

What coils should I order from NOC

Victor

Ohms should be 1.7 each coil, so when they are in series you get 3.4 ohms for the Boyer and thecoils you have if good should meet this. If a coil is bad get the same one to replace it or a PVL equivalent, been working with my Boyer in series eell for many years, crushing of the outer will give an internal short.
