It's been a week since I brought my 38 ES2 home.
The previouys owner told me to push the tool box latch button and the box will open. Well it's locked. Is there a universal key that may fit? Can it be picked..lol
My other option is to remove the tool box and take to a locksmith.

There were several different types of lock used. I thought the usual thing was to slide the button / lock body, not to push it. Any chance of a photo ? There are no captive nuts on these so removing will probably mean grinding the heads off.

Richard you are correct. i went out and yes it now opens. Full of new footpeg rubbers. handle bar grip and fuel lines Plus taps. .

If the box is anything like mine ('55 ES2) I think you have to open it to remove it?
