Hi folks
Our mechanic removed the timing case and found two numbers inside e6971 and e6972 I assume they are part numbers but would they help to date the bike

No, these will most likely be only shop part numbers and the same on all machines using those parts.
See here for guidance on where to look for numbers that can be used to date a Norton.
