Hi, I have just purchased a Norton Big Four as my first entry into classic bikes (from Harley Davidsons)and I am having problems starting it as I don't understand all the levers on the handlebars can anyone help please.

John, there are a number of sources that will give you a detailed starting procedure.
What year is the bike and on which side of the magneto (viewed from the chaincase) does the advance-retard cable exit ?
You could have either a 'tight-wire' or 'slack-wire' advance and this has to be established first. It changed over time and owner preference in the past could have brought about a modification.
