Model 77 part name

Forums

Hi can someone tell me what this is called,I've just noticed a crack in it so I need to fix or replace it? It goes from the top of the engine to the rear petrol tank fixings. Many thanks

I am presuming that your Model 77 is the 99 engine version.
The part looks like a form of head steady.
A very easy fix with some basic welding and filing.

That head steady looks nothing like the ones that i have on my own two Nomads. This is a single piece of metal, that attaches to the top of the frame tube. As the Nomad frame is very similar to the Model 77 one, so the head steady plate may be the same as the Nomads one.
The Model 77 head steady plate part number was 15315. The head stay stud was 18032, and then nut was E3224, with the washer E5376
