Mk2A plastic airbox top bracket

Forums

Please could somebody advise if the L(ish) shape bracket, from which the air box is suspended, should sit against the back (nearest the back of the bike) of the triangulated frame gusset or against the front (albeit with a suitable spacer).

Your help is very much appreciated.

My unmolested unrestored MK2a has the bracket hanging off the front, there is a thin spacer, just thick enough so the bracket does not touch the curved lip on the gusset plate. Bolt head is on back of gusset plate, gusset plate, spacer, L bracket then washer and nut on front.

Thank you John. This will make the left side panel fit snugly as intended. A previous owner cut the air box to accommodate an SU carb. I'll trim it some more so it will fit in it's proper position.
