I'd appreciate some advice - once I have removed the steering stem nut and tab washer should the bottom yoke just tap down and off. I'm wanting to replace the headlight bracket (shroud) bottom 'O' rings.

Thanks Stan, yes I've got the forks out for new stanctions and rebuild kit etc. I'll take your good advice and use WD40 and lots of wriggling.

I'll assume you've dropped the forks -- in which case, the bottom yoke will just pull off, maybe rotate it a bit with a squirt of WD40 to help things along. It's a sliding fit so I'd try to leave the hammer in your toolbox.
