Hello, I have 1967 N15CS gearbox number NA15221. I believe it has the correct inner cover with the kickstart spring looped round a steel boss but an incorrect outer, cast part number 06 0722.
I am trying to find the correct outer part number.
The parts book says 028535 but can find no reference th this number
What is the part number of the cover I need ?
And is the part number cast into the cover ?
Thanks Richard

That's good Richard - Early Commando outers also fit but they do not have the tapped thread for the cable adjuster because the cable is adjusted at the lever end. The later Matchless and AJS twins outer and inner covers also fit if they were from a gearbox with an MA prefix. The Norton Mercury covers are also a good fit as they were modified Commando parts with the thread. Cheers, Howard

Hello again Richard - your main shell for your N15 CS is 040413, the inner cover is 028534 and the outer cover is 028535. the main shell is common to the hybrids whereas the inner and outer cases are common to the hybrids and the featherbed twins in those years. good luck - there are plenty about around the jumbles.
