Forums

WONDERING IF THE FEATHERBED 500-MANX-EXHAUST DOWN PIPE WOULD WORK ON A 19S. ENGINED-FEATHERBED. WERE THERE LATE-MANX'S WITH A LONGER-STROKE-THAN THE 500... THAT THE SIDE-CAR MEN USED .. I KNOW THERE PIPES ARE UPSWEPT AND THEY DON'T HAVE A KICKSTART BEING A RACES..BUT THOUGHT SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE TRIED DOING IT. .TOMMY

Hi Tommy,

If you want the swept back type Manx pipe, you need the 1953 type longstroke one although I don't know if anyone makes this particular pattern. These engines use 7.5" con-rods and have 100 mm stoke so should be about the right height, but remember the pipe will stick out over the mag cover like a dogs wotsits and I think the kick-startWILL be a problem.I understand the boss of Armours has passed away, so don't know what the future is and just hope it keeps going.

Regards, Richard.
