Canada calling. I have just finished assembling a basket case '53 Model 7. In static mode all gears shift up and down nicely, as they should. But in transit the gearbox shifts from 2nd to 4th, missing 3rd. After the ride I put the 7 on the entre stand and checked the static changing, all ok, then ran the bike on the centre stand and observed the shift from 2nd to 4th. Any suggestions before taking the outer cover off?

the part i refere to is accessible from out side of the box just take out and check its operation.i wouldnt move the gears with it removed . shown in the attatched photo.
i am not an expert, but i am sure more knowledgeable members will help sorting it out for you.

wonder if it could be the cam plate indexing plunger in the box is sticking. and not engaging fully.
