Hi

Has anybody got these fitted to their Commando ??

I`ve used these before on a Duke but they were louder than standard

what noise level/sound is like using them on a 750 Commando much appreciated

Stephen,

I have Kiehan's fitted to my 750 Interstate, I don't think they sound much different to standard peashooter silencers. The bike stillhas that distinctive Commando sound.

Hope this helps, Alan.

One last question is on colour !!

Being stainless they will be slightly yellow compared to chrome? is it acceptable diff or a constant polish job?

Although my Commando has chrome peashooters, I have a Guzzi with Keihan silencers. I would say it is louder than standard (although not too loud) and they do turn slightly yellow with use. It can be polished-off with Solvol Autosol very easily, but they will turn yellow again quickly, say after a few hours use.

Steve,

In my opinionthe colour difference is not enough to worry about. They do go off slightly after a few weeks but a quick rub with autosol polish brings back the chromey look. They look and sound great. If you're fitting them to a bike you intend to keep the fact that you know they wont rot away in time is worth it. I've had my bike since 1981 I wish I'd bought Kiehan's back then I would have saved a lot of money, I bought my Kiehans5 years ago.

Regards, Alan

The site wouldn't let me type in this space yesterday hence the spurious post above. Anyway, what I was going to say was, in the early days of my Commando ownership (mid seventies) the chromed silencers didn't last very long at all and used to rust out from the inside. My most recent pair have been on for well over ten years (same bike) and show no sign of corrosion. they may have been made by TOGA but they have a raised reinforced plate where the two bosses are. I have seen the price of the stainless ones and I don't think they justify the money unless you intend riding through the winter on salty roads. At Norton day near Bromsgrove a good few years ago a chap had a set of stainless silencers that were cranked in to parallel the axis of the bike bit like a Laverda Jota pipe. They did look good but I think he had made them himself.

I've bought stainless silencers from a UK online shop called Feked.

They were quick to ship it andreally kindin explaining me which model and mountings I have to order, the price was really good and the same for the quality.

I suggest it also because look the same as the chromed OEM , after some runs under the rain, too.

Thanks for all the replies

I purchased the Kiehan silencers in the end because of the poor quality of the other makes on the market.

The front pipes that I got of Norvil is another issue (poor fit and quality) .

Regards to all
