Jubilee lifting handle

Forums

Hello I have a new lifting handle from the noc that fits the left hand side of my jubilee, I am looking for one that fits the right hand side, can anyone help. As I have a big gap under my seat it would fill the gap. It's a deluxe jubilee.

Hello Derek, i have looked at a few pictures of jubilees and some seem to have them on the left or right, i think mine must have had a right hand side one originally as the centre stand foot lever is on the right, if i can find both i will fit them, it will make the seat gap look a bit better.

Cheers Kelvin.

I suspect that the reason that your bike has a gap between the seat and the tinware is because it's been fitted with the wrong seat. Regrettably, I have the same issue with my Jubilee and I surmise that the non-De Luxe Jubilees were fitted with a slightly shallower seat than that on the Jubilee version. Also, it doesn't fully extend forward to abut against the rear of the tank as it should.

Certainly, the nearly-new one I bought in 1961 (when it was still just a 'Jubilee' but with all the tinware) had a flush-fitting seat, unlike the annoyingly gappy one on my current bike.

You can check this out by looking at photos of various, properly presented concours-standard Jubilees that are about.

Hello thanks for the reply, my seat is fitting close to the front of the tank and correct at the rear, after looking at other pictures it seems that my cover might be a bit short, at the bottom there is a skirt type part that should sit on the tinware, buttowards the rear end the gap gets bigger on mine, but i dont think the cover could be stretched any more, maybe i am being to fussy. Looking at lots of different jubilee pictures they all look a bit different, some look far worse than mine.

Hello Howard, right i am with you, this may be my problem, to be honest i will just have to live with it, if i could get the cover stretched a bit more would sort it out, it would be handy if you could edit post on the site, i could go back and correct my spelling.

Cheers Kelvin.
