Jubilee Headlight Adjustment

Forums

Can anyone send me a couple of pictures of how the Jubilee headlight angle is controlled please?

Rebuilding my ‘66 and there was nothing positioning it prior to the rebuild - other than the rigid aged wiring looms!

Thanks

Surely you just loosen the bolts either side attaching it to the fork leg shroud ears and then adjust to suit?

Or am I missing something here?

Headlights were tested at Mot time . To set mine up I put the bike on a level surface at night and pointed at the garage door 25 foot away . The main  beam should strike the door at the same height as the bike , the dip should strike the base of the door. And angle towards the near kerb . I have passed 3/4 bike, car and van MOT's every year for at least 30 years. 100 + MOt's  and no fails .A few close shaves though (till I got them to read the rules and do it right !)

There is a threaded screw hole in the back of the headlight shell & what looks like mountings in the fork yoke, it looks as though a bracket would have gone between those two points to facilitate accurate adjustment & adequate support.
