I received the following message in error I think. It came to me as I am the Secretary of the Northern California Norton Owners Club. Anyway here it is:
Hi Mike
I am wanting to purchase an old Norton for a restoration project, the seller does not know what model or year it is!
I think itâs a ES2 1940âs, would you be able to give me some ifrmation on it?
The numbers are:
A3 3061
79X 100
Y360
Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Dave Neto
Perhaps someone can help him directly or I can forward any info given to him. Maybe even someone in SA can help him.
His email address is: dave @dermafix.co.za
Thanks
Mike

He even sent it to the Kings Norton Motorcycle Club .....

According to this chart:
http://www.classicbike.biz/Norton/Maintenance/NortonEngineNumbers.htm
The bike is a 1945-1946 Model 18
Anybody have anything further?
Thanks
Mike
