I'm after a gear lever for the laydown gearbox on my 1950 ES2. I've seen them advertised for the AMC boxs. Are they interchangeble? If not does anyone know where I can get a new one? Mine is badly rusted and pitted so wont poish and plate very well at all.

I see one or two listed more or less constantly on eBay but who knows if it is the correct length.
Usually you can post a question to these guys and they will answer but I'm sure a Canadian or British source would be more forthcoming

just had a measure, they are different, the laydwn box is approx 20 mm measured over the splines(as is the upright box) and the amc box is 16mm.
