Greeting to all Commando lovers. I have owned this Roadster for 17 odd years now and fancying a change, bought most of the required parts to convert to a Fastback. However, things are not as simple as first appear to be, so I would be grateful if any Fastback owners could help me. The tailpiece is supposed to have a loop type bracket to secure it to the frame, yes? How does the mudguard attach at that point? Also is the number plate connected anywhere in additionto the two bolts at the rear of the lamp unit? Any close-up pics would be most helpful.

The not sure if you have got what you want yet, but I have had the same problem?
The mudguard is held on in 3 places one at the rear as you say, one brake comes down off the gusset where the top tube ends, you will notice 2 holes for 1/4" bolts, a dog leg braket bolts on here and lines up with a hole on the mudguard and the bottom is mounted off the horn bolts,
There are some good photos on access norton forum that show this.
There is also anther mount for the number plate at the rear.
