You know how the footrest (left hand) on a plunger ES2 is prevented from rotating, i.e. the serrations on the distance tube attached to the engine plate 'mates' with corresponding
serrations on the footrest? Well mine are getting very worn on the distance tube end and as a result the footrest is starting to rotate when serious pressure is applied. I have tried
filing with a triangular file which worked well for a while, but more filing is becoming necessary and each time more metal is removed.....
So, I can think of several ways of solving this ..-better engine plate/distance tube, welding and re-machining serrations etc all quite serious and involved- but does anyone have experience of sorting such a problem which is effective and bleeding obvious to everyone except me?
And if anyone has this plate with its distance tube for sale, please let me know.
Thanks to all,
Adam

I believe some tubes with…
I believe some tubes with serrated ends and/or just the serrated bits are being manufactured in Australia. They appear on eBay at regular intervals although I can't see them there at the moment. I think you would have to cut out the worn sections and weld the replacements to the existing plate
