Hi,
I have a 1954 ES2. I am curious to learn whether anyone has fitted valve seats?
The seats in the head have been ground down and the (new) valves are slightly too long.
I have 3 options:-
1. I could grind the end off the new valves - this is not precise.
2. Fita thicker copper gasket - if these are available?
or 3. install valve seats - this has the advantage ofincreased resilience to lead free petrol.
A supplementary question if I pursue the new seats option is who will do this (preferably near to Warwick)?
Thanks,
Ian

Out of interest what do you mean the valves are too long? Altering the seat just moves them up into the head, that can give clearance issues for the top of the valve spring that rattles against the rocker cover. I can't see that a thicker head gasket will make any difference?
