Electra timing Cover Pic

Forums

Does anyone have a close picture of the Electra timing cover area with the cover removed and everything in place for the cover replacement? The project I purchased has the shifter apparatus and the spring for the kick starter removed. I have the pieces but Iâm not quite sure how they should be positioned prior to replacing the cover gasket and closing thing up.

In the absence of a picture of the gear shift/ footchange assembly, can someone tell me the correct position of the footchange pedal shaft (with pedal spring and plate) as it slides into the large circular footchange ratchet (not the one with teeth) with the transmission in neutral. Should the spring end point straight up, horizontal, 10 o'clock or where? Thanks. Jack

Dan,

Thanks for the info and visual. So does the two-pronged end of the spring (33) on the end of shaft (32) point upward as shown on the drawing or does it straddle the rod attached to inside of the cover in that area when the cover is installed? Jack
