This might seem a strange request but the bike I'm restoring I have not seen it build up only in boxes and want to know how the tool box fits I have three parts a lid,case, and an oblong plate with three holes in this is the part I need to known where fits

Hello this is not a tool box has the tools go under the seat , What yourreferringtoo is the Battery Box the small plate is themounting plate that fit on the under side of the main inner box there are two fixing bolt too fit this and one at the top , the other middle hole is for the battery strap , so I hope this puts some light on things your Anna J

The plate the oil tank sits on has two tapped holes I presume are for fixing battery box it's the small plate with two holes I can't find where it fits

A couple of photos to help. The oblong plate sits inside the box at the bottom. 2 bolts (5/16" cei I think) pass through the plate.... on through the box bottom and screw into the cross plate which mounts both the oil tank and battery box. This plate should have nuts welded to it to receive the ends of the bolts.

When all the bits are bolted together on the bike, it is a smart move to put a rubber mat inside to sit on top of the bolt heads.

Thanks for info I just couldn't see why there's a need for the small plate

but now I know I'll fit it correctly
