Dominator crankshaft numbers

Forums

Evening all,

Please can anyone through any light on what the numbers mean on my dominator 600 crankshaft

on centre is stamped 10415752, 8744, 5242 stacked with large number closest to centre. Then on each lobe/ear is 253 with one small punch mark which i presume means it been ground but the journals measure 38.1mm.

Any information welcome.

Hmm, looks like a secret code to me. My spare one is stamped .030 with D on the drive side of the flywheel and T on the timing side.

I note that it is from a dynamo engine. These are not standard numbers. A previous owner or a machine shop has added them. They must mean something to someone but, judging by the lack of responses, no-one on this forum.

18744 is the p/n for a model 99 flywheel. The flywheel in the pic appears to have been seriously modified. The factory used to stamp the crankshafts with 597 to identify a model 99 crank. Though I do believe some were also stamped with 596. I am guessing that 15752 & 19242 are also p/n.

Attached photo shows other variations of crankshaft.

Interesting that the factory used to stamp 597 to identify a 99 crank though I have never seen it stamped on a 99 crank - perhaps the alternator ones were not stamped. I would have thought that factory personnel could tell at a glance an 88 from a 99 crank - or perhaps not...

Thank you to Phil Haman who has confirmed the crank is from a 99 dominator. An most of the numbers can be explained. Thanks Phil great work.
