hello,
could anyone tell me if the nuts that hold the rear brake drum onto the cotton reel hub are normal thread. they are very tight . can seem to budge them. ive tried shouting at them, but that didnt work.

If you are talking about the sleeve nuts , i use a 3/8 drive socket set and a tee bar . Sometimes even a metric socket 11 mm i think. Swearing always helps. They need to be tight as they can work loose.

Thanks for that David . Yes Robert it's the sleeve nuts I am on about. I have got a 7/16" half inch drive socket on them. With half inch drive bar. I just put the socket on the nut through the spokes then past the drive bar through the hole in the hub. Its just that i didn't want to put to much force on them and ruin something without knowing which thread it was.
