Classic British Motorcycles

Does anyone have any experience of purchasing from Classis British Motorcycles, as I have placed an order with them and paid for it but cannot get to talk to them by phone and have emailed them twice with no response. Have I been duped ??

You may have been. I went to physically look for them as I live not too far away, on behalf of someone in the US on a Norton forum I belong to. He'd ordered stuff and couldn't get any response. I eventually found the building they are supposed to be in but it was deserted. I did eventually get to speak to someone on the phone and asked when they were open as I lived nearby. They told me they had recently taken over the business and were moving it somewhere up north and there was almost nothing left in Aldridge. That was over a year ago and they are still using the Aldridge address and phone number now. All very questionable.

If you paid by credit card I'd be speaking to your card provider.

Id say they're not based in Europe, the grammar and sales patter certainly indicates that anyway

Those are them. The person I spoke to was definitely English. Here's some reviews so form your own opinion.

I tried to order a centre stand from them just before Christmas last year. I expected there to be a delay because of the holidays, but when I hadn't heard anything by the middle of January I tried contacting him. No response to telephone (always have to leave a message) or email. Eventually looked at my credit card statement and the reference for the sale was a mobile number. Finally got through with that, to be told that there was a delay as his supplier was making a new batch. Kept chasing it up until April when he said that he couldn't get the stand anymore and would credit my card back. That went on for a few weeks and was on the point of contacting the card company when the payment was refunded. Needless to say I won't risk using him again. The mobile number, if it will help you is: 07939 237565 and the guy's name is Jon.

Hope this helps,

Kevin

I have had exactly your experience Malcolm.I ordered some exhaust pipes last December but never did receive them despite trying all the usual contact routes.

Because my purchase was over £100.0 I was able to recover my money, using section 75 of the consumer credit act, from my credit card company.

However, two years previously I purchased a pair of Navigator pipes and they arrived quickly and are of good quality. In my opinion this company should not be allowed to continue trading, but who can take action -Trading Standards, maybe ?

Yes public orotection for the area in which the shop is based should be the first port of call. If the trader is not responding and not providing either the goods or a refund then the local Police can be utilised. They will investigate if there are signs of fraud once the complaint is lodged formally.

The people that run this business are the lowest of the lowest scum. They have ripped me for £122.40 for fork stanchions and told me a pack of lies about the owners being in a accident. I spoke to a irish guy who told me my stanchions were being made and i would receive them mid january. He was acting on behalf of the owner. They have blocked my mobile number and do not answer any calls. The website needs to be taken down and put out of actuon to stop anyone else losing money to these people.. JUST SCUM

Over the years I worked for 3 businesses that failed and left customers and workers unhappy. All were good profitable concerns that failed due to bad management decisions . There were no crooks involved. Everyone wants the best price and that has driven down quality.
