Trust me not to get the needle.
P.S. When I built my monobloc a specialist classic supplier sold me a needle for a GP carb instead of the correct one. The engine 8 stroked until it got to 50 mph.
Info on the Hitchcocks web site allowed me to identify it with the aid of a jewelers loop.

Kevin. Tell us what you have. 900 what? Choke size, jetting, slide, needle etc. Is it a 928, 930, 932...? It is non-standard, that is for sure. 88's were only fitted with 1" 376 Monoblocs. Even the fact that it is a 900 series makes it sound too big, as they start at 28mm, which is 1"1/8 approx. Have you ever had it running with this carb on it?

As you have an unsuitable carb, why not just buy a new 1" 376 or, if you want to stick to a concentric, a new 626? Not much point in trying to use an oversize carburettor.

She's on an Amal 930.
Thanks for the advice to everyone.
Kind regards

You are on a hiding to nothing with that one. Best do as Gordon suggests.
Do let us know what you do to overcome the problem, won't you?
