Anyone know the size of the roller bearing that supports the sleeve gear bearing in the later type of gearbox (Electra etc)?
Also what is the centre distance between between main and lay shaft in that gearbox?
Thanks,
John

Bearing size
Peter, thanks for the info.
I was hoping it may be possible to use this bearing in the early gearbox, far to big to do so safely.
It suggest that the late type gearbox has a larger centre distance between main and lay shafts. There is little metal between the sleeve gear bearing and layshaft bush (early box) with the 52mm O/D bearing that precludes fitting the larger bearing.
Back to the drawing board with regard to reconditioning the bearing diameter of the sleeve gear!
