Check inside the drive side for a stress raiser directly in line with the junction of journal and cheek, Get it removed. Once pistons and rods sorted get the crank balanced. Some motors reasonably smooth, some horrible, no consistancy, well worth the trouble.

I can remember back in the old days a firm selling reground timing side and drive side cranks. If all I had was two knackered cranks but could make one out of them I would give it a go.
