On the modern bikes I have had my experience has been that an alarm/imobilizer wired onto the bike is nothing but trouble for the owner, and no problem at all for a thief.
The problems I mean are false alarms on ferries etc, flat batteries, wiring problems, interferance and dodgy key fob transmiters.
Best bet to keep your bike is a good chain and shackel, disc lock, and dont let it out of your sight.
Another good thing I heard about, is when the bike is left in your garage for long periods take out the handle bar clamp bolts. So even if a thief gets in the garage he will have a problem moving the bike about with unclamped handle bars
I second that, more trouble than they are worth and nobody takes any notice of them anymore. But if you are intent on fitting one the best one I have had was the one marketed by Triumph which are Datatool. I had an Acumen as well but I had it removed as it went off as soon as it got wet.

Thank you both, I wouldprefer not to fit one but the insurance companymay insist. may just fit a tracker instead, cheers.

Indeed , can't beat massive chain and industrial padlock for garage security. In addition spend some time and effort upgrading garage doors(s) security with heavy duty deadbolts , padlocks , etc - inside and out and several of them-you can never have overkill. My garage rivals Fort Knox.

The best tracking system is the Mark 1 Eyeball! It's a sad state of affairs when such precautions are necessary. Hope your Caferacer has turned up as expected.
