I've got my 67 Norton 650SS engine in bits to do a rebuild. I'm curious to know if the conrods are the same as that supplied when the bike was new. They have 3/8" rod bolts and the number on the flute of the rod is 23258 R1R1R. There is also an oil hole from the centre of the big end bearing surface to spray oil at the bottom of the piston. Could someone please comment on this as to right or wrong rods for a 67 650SS. Thanking you in advance.

That sounds about right to me. My '67 650SS, '69Mercury and '69 Commando had the same rods. Good rebuilding and riding. Howard
