Switch Connector Block

Forums

Gents,

I have been having misfiring problems on my Electra. The ignition switch has been renewed but I found the connector block on the ignition switch was burned out. The NOC forum has told me that these items are irreplaceable. I thought it might be useful to know that 4 mm female bullet connectors fit onto the prongs of the new switches. So I have rewired the switch using them. The "internal" connections and multiple "external" links have been moved to a connector block. Photos are attached.

The first shows my burned out connector block.

The second shows what I have called the two "internal" links on the back of the connector block and the remnants of the multiple "external" connections.

The third shows the prongs on the back of the switch. Only 4 are used are actually used.

The fourth shows the 4 female bullet connectors on the switch and the connector block with its wiring links.

I am still worried though about the comments recently on this forum about the reliability of the replacement switch's internal connections.

Hope this helps,

David

If I were rewiring, I'd seriously consider using Wago connectors. A selection box from Screwfix is cheapest way to get a few.
