Footrest serration repair

Hi all, I've read at this place some years? ago how to repair the footrest serration on the left hand plate on pre feartherbed.

I've found the part from RGM 18772RM but I think another part complete with thread to be welded after machining the old one have been suggested too. Can't find it anymore .

So if someone remembers about that, I would be happy.

Dear Benoit, the closest thing I could find were small kick gears (ratchet type) of an old motorcycle from my country (Argentina) brand "PUMA 98CC". I had to align them well and weld them. Greetings Gerardo

RGM list a part on their website, see part number 18772RM, which you can adapt to fit your footrest fixing.

Depending on how badly rounded the serrations are, a triangular file in the right hands can affect a usuable  repair. I repaired mine that way, make sure the paint is all gone before filing and don't apply too much paint after filing which will negate your efforts.
