Has anyone fitted a 961 Cafe Racer Flyscreen to a 961 sport, it looks like it should fit OK but have not seen a Sport with a screen fitted. If not is there a suitable screen available to fit the Sport?

Hi Clive
Yes it sends it a bit higher than the clocks do, but it kind of finnishes off the bike,
I would have bought the cafe racer but my back wouldn't agree with my heart!

Funny enough, I have done the opposite and taken off the flyscreen on my cafe racer as I feel a cafe racer should be as minimal, clean lookingas possible. I don't mind the extra wind blast as it helps take some weight off the wrists......Took off the standard heavy silver mirrors too and put bar end Oberon mirrors on (v good quality). The bike now looks like a proper cafe racer. For sports models, i've seen them with flyscreen on and they look good. I have a carbon flyscreen not being used if someone wants to make me an offer.

Hello
I think those mirrors they fit on all the Norton range make them look not so good, I fitted a CRG bar end mirror to my cafe racerand my Ducati and can actually see whats behind me and not my elbows, These also fold flat when not in use so youdon'tsnag on them when the they are in the garage , I have also fitted CRG roller levers and they are really quality stuff, bit pricey but make the bike mine. See Faster by Design web site for info.

Hi Richard, Although I have a sport I like the look of the Cafe Racer and I think that the flyscreen would finish off the front of the bike. I have looked at other aftermarket versions but they don't look right, also I am thinking of fitting lower bars or ace bars for the summer as long as they are not too uncomfortable! How about £100 for your removed one? Assuming it's the Norton original.
BTW I have a set of brand new unused standard silencers if anyone is interested, I don't need them as I have the sport versions and wont ever be fitting the standard ones again. Although I expect a lot of 961 owners have the standard spare items. Ifyouneed to contact me, call me on 07977482663 Cheers, John

Apologies for late reply. I didn't realise how expensive the part was (£250.00!!) so better keep onto it as may have to sell bike due to it only having one seat and I'm feeling guilty about never taking the missus anywhere....can't afford a second bike...
