Hi all,
Newbie here, I have just joined!
I am based in Essex and and have a 1942 Big4 with a gearbox fault.
The big wont find 3rd gear going up the box, but will find it from 4th back down the box.
I am looking for a local gearbox specialist that can undertake the servicing and repair on the box for me
Any advice or recommendations who can do this will be greatly appreciated.
Is it only adjustment? …

Is it only adjustment? First try altering the length of the ling from the doll's hear down to the box. The two pins should be under no load when in 2nd and 3rd, and 1st and 4th should then look after themselves. If you've never worked on a Norton, the gearbox is a good place to start.
And if nobody else knows a professional near you - go along to your local Branch and make some contacts and friends. In fact - if you are new, go along anyway!
