For a friend : is there a seal washer (join) between the cylinder head and the exhaust pipe ,thanks
No. Pipe becomes hotter than head, so the pipe jams tighter when hot. It shouldn't work as well (if at all) with an alloy head, so I've no idea how Norton Jubilee does it.
Call me picky, but the exhaust pipe doesn't actually meet the cylinder head on your 16H. It's a side-valve motor - the exhaust port is on the cylinder barrel.
The ohv Nortons use a copper-asbestos gasket between exhaust pipe and port. I expect the 16H did also
True, Paul! But it still just plugs into the hole on my 16H, and that is one of the places that does not leak.
I'transmitting to my friend.
Thanks you very much.
Estimado Francis, mi solución fue además de juntas de amianto, un sellador de silicona de alta temperatura, además de un buen ajuste del tubo de cilindro, (el traductor deforma un poco lo que me refiero)

Neat solution if you have a problem. The earlier bikes (before WD bikes) did not even have a bracket to the front of the engine.
When my ES2 silencer bracket failed the other week (fixed temporarily with a Mole wrench - now done properly) the whole weight of the pipe and silencer was hanging off the cylinder head mounting. I'm surprised it was strong enough.....
On crude bikes with no mechanical exhaust pipe retention, just a push fit, I use exhaust putty to seal the joint. Such as on my Super Rocket - but if yours doesn't leak, don't bother.
Gracia por tu ayuda
Thanks you to everyone else for that clarifications.
Hvordan finne riktige deler til 16H 1943? Jeg har original delekatalog, men finner ikke igjen delenummerene på delelistene her.
Ian - is that an iron head or alloy?
... I'm not sure how far I went like that but it would have been a few miles anyway.
