Cathcart interview with Stuart Garner

I've just finished reading Mr. Cathcart's article, small wonder that Norton's has had teething troubles, what with all the bureaucratic hurdles and financial dealings, I'm a little surprised Mr. Garner still has his hair! I for one, would dearly love to see a new Norton commando at a stop light and be able to give the owner a "thumb's up". As far as a more modern design is concerned, why not? It certainly worked for the revitalized Triumph with their liquid cooled triples and quads, at least until the new twins hit the market, now they're everywhere!

I do wish that I was in a financial position to order a new commando, but having to take care of the unimportant things like family, food, clothing and shelter keep interfering. I'm sure some of you will understand.

The new 961 is a beautiful bike! Ok some of the plastic Jap bike owners may joke that it has low hp, but its all usable hp. When do those Jap bike owner honestly get a chance to use all 140ish hpâ?â?.. answer is hardly ever!

Iâm one of the younger members of the NOC at 27, but Iâm a proud owner of a self restored â69 Commando âSâ. Which I ride regularly, and in most weathers (naughty I know)!

I took a 961 out for a test ride from the Norton factory, it took weeks for me to remove the grin from my face. Great ride with the real spirit of British engineering! I wish Stuart Garner all the best, Iâm looking forward to the day when I can afford to put down a deposit. CafÃ? racer in silver I think, but itâs got to have loud pea shooters! See the vid I made;

The bike is always going to have critics, as with all machine designs. But we should rememberâ?â?. People never build statues of the critics! I hope that the future designs and releases from the factory are innovative, popular and successful.
