650SS gear lever S shape

Forums

I have a Norton 650SS with Dunstall exhaust fitted

I have all the parts to fit forward foot rests connected through the Primary chain case cover

I am looking to purchase a S shaped gear lever to miss the Exhausts for it to be used.

Can it be purchased or do I need to modify existing lever to fit past exhaust

As Ian said , Bent lever . Put it in a big vice  and  bend out  with a big Stillsons.  May still not clear the swept back pipe . Most bikes with those pipes were fitted with rear sets ,  Only suitable for young fit  posers.

I have a similar problem with sweptback pipes fitted. Gear lever for sweptback pipes

I have bent the lever to clear the down pipe, but it's now slightly too short to get my boot under it.  What I am going to do is, sacrifice an old lever I have and weld a section onto the leading part of the bent lever.  I will then have to have it re-chromed but will do all the stripping and polishing myself to save a little cash.

RGM have various gear pedals that will work. for JPN or rearsets etc.

To make the best chances of working with what you have you need to raise the footrest to its max height and also set the gear lever  (before fixing the rest ) so that its on the same level as the rest.. This will also give you more room for the foot and clearance twixt gear lever and pipe.  Then you set the brake side parts to match !  Cant now get comfy ?  fit some sensible bars .
