Jubilee Deluxe seat

Forums

I now need to get my old seat sorted, the seat pan is one is the early types with terry clips. Heard lots of good reports from people who have used Leightons.

Noticed that number of Jubilees including mine have a gap between the bottom of the seat and top rail, do the new seats have a small curtain around the bottom of the seat to cover the gap. The only way I can think of to close the gap a bit is to elongate/alter the frame fixings where the side panel fixings connect. Has anyone else managed to close the gap.

Thanks

John.

Leighton do a good job - not cheap, though!

Not sure what gap you are referring to? The seat base covers the frame rails, and should come down to meet the panels. See comtemporary Road Test picture attached.

The curtain was a reinforced extension of the cover. I have the detail on my 99, And its shown in the picture above.. I also had the orriginal cover for many years. the Leighton replacement was a perfect replica. Dark Grey sides ,white piping and a  grey/ white check top. I don't think they have the exact material match  now.

Hi Robert. You are right, the reinforced extension of the cover is what I was calling a curtain. Ive seen a lot of the Deluxe seats that dont have this curtain and you can see the top of the frame between the seat and side panels. Hopefully Leightons include the curtain, but I will check.

You are right Leightons dont have the check top, just a grey top, I can live with that.
