Out for the Sunday ride on the 99 and son on the Atlas ,we thought a run down to Leigh in kent would test the bikes and look at a Fishing lake for Phil. The atlas tried to shed a mudguard fixing bolt, Never done that before,perhaps the newly balanced pistons has changed the Harmonics?. On the way down the 99 developed a missfire ,which I ignored ,then the Ampmeter went beserk,ranging from full discharge to half across charge, finally setling for mostly half discharge.Happily we arrived at Leigh and I turned all off ,but with a half scale discharge still showing. I pulled the battery connections off ,but the meter still half discharge. Very puzzling, Where is Al Oz when needed !. Checking round the zener and sink have gone awol. Everything seems to work except all the action is on the discharge side of the meter. I deduce that the meter has taken a terminal beating but all will be well if I run with everything on full. And so it is. Except when i get home I spot a screw in the Back tyre .
