Inter silencer

I'm thinking of 'resting' my Brooklands can on my 1932 rigid Inter and fitting a more social 1932/33 pattern diamond shape with fantail from Armours. I fear it might affect carburation. Perhaps only the main jet? I don't want to end up trying to retune a TT carb that currently works fine. Any experiences out there please?

The shape available isn't perfect (compared with the August 1933 Motor Cycle Road test picture) but it looks OK. I think.

...but length and outlet area comparison would guide you. Blow each with an air line and attach a flow meter (bag, tape, tube to the meter); differential between the two will guide you. No expert but have worked on my silencers to  choose best for my 37 inter. It was straight piped, came with a Brookee but I ended up with a gold star can in the end . Non of which were standard but the machine isn’t either....

Good luck
