Where does one go to obtain a couple of replacement stainless spokes?

If I had a wheel with broken stainless spokes then I think that I would have it rebuilt completely as it really shouldn't happen if good quality spokes have been used or the wheel put together correctly..
My wheels were rebuilt with stainless spokes and Akront rims by Hagons in about 1984 and have been fine, with plenty of two-up touring with camping gear.
Stainless steel does not have the same tensile strength as steel, I spec my own spokes when rebuilding and always go one gauge thicker than the factory when using stainless for spokes, even 2 if the factory ones are prone to failure eg T140 disc rears. Never had one fail.
.. with Richard. Once one or two spokes break the adjacent ones are under much higher stress and are liable to go as well. I'd bite the bullet and go for a respoke - possibly with butted spokes. I also prefer original galvanised to stainless.
I've used Central Wheel many times and been happy with their products.
S/S might or might not be as strong under peak loading as old galvanised spokes but, for what it's worth, when I used to commute by bicycle daily into central London I had regular fatigue failures in galvanised steel spokes. Those failures stopped when I moved to stainless. I put it down to less surface damage due to corrosion. I replaced one spoke some years ago after a skill-deficient mechanic broke one of mine when struggling to re-fit a tyre rim lock.

Have found a restorer and wheel builder local to me in Whitchurch Shropshire who is going to make up a few spokes and also re-lace my front wheel which has the wrong offset.

Devon Rim have the correct single butted spoke an their stainless rims are excellent to.
I "HAD" a Central Wheel rear rim that was poorly made an broke multiple spokes over time until i binned it. Three different sets of spokes an two different wheel builders plus myself could not make a stop the spoke failures. Once the speed when above 80mph you could guaranty at least one of the drive side inners would fail. The quality of the bends in both length and angle were poor an not even the same from one set to another. They are not the butted style so are to small to fit the hub holes correctly also.
Devon are the correct single butted spoke an the rim is also much better quality. The wheel as been repeatedly into an beyond the famed "TON" with not issue at all. The price seems not to far from others also.
hello well need to see my devon rim 10 years old I would Not call it excellent and far from it I will be changing it out with a new stainless steel rim made by jones and I have dunlop rims that are well over 60 years old in better chrome then my Doven rim witch cost more then any dunlop rim So I stickto Dunlop rim or Jones rims and Devon rims can keep there duff high pirced rims and devon rims to me are conmen ,yours anna j
The new 'Jones' rim is likely made in China, just another recycling of old brands by completely unrelated new companies. Ask a direct question on source before buying.
Devon rims was sold on some years ago, quality has declined and also the response to any faults.
@anna be aware that Wassell bought a license to use the Jones brand name, logo and trademarks back in 2013.
It doesn’t mean they are bad, but they are not the same Jones that supplied manufacturers like Norton and Triumph back in the day.
Of the suppliers on this side of the pond, I feel the Devon Rim Company are amongst the best provided you stick to the premium Rolltru range as opposed to their lower spec Valtru.
Personally, I feel that stainless steel is perhaps not the right choice of material for rims - preferring triple chromed mild steel or even aluminium.
Stainless spokes are fine provided the threads are rolled not cut, and I prefer nickel plate brass nipples over stainless.
Just my opinion of course.
Anna i got may rim form CWC about 7 years ago an from Devon last year. This year i got new exhaust pipe (kind of off topic but there is a point to it) two other people got pipes we were all in different countries and got them from different suppliers who had good reputations for spares quality. But all three pipes did not fit an all had the same problem which can't be purely coincidence. It would seem to prove they all came from the same point of manufacturer even though to set i got were claimed to be made in this country. So it seems it's not just where but when you buy something that may affect its quality as to how good the batch it was made in was. Commandos are still used in large enough numbers that small-scale batch/mass production of spares is cost effective for buyers an seller's but as always quality cost money an if seller's can make better profit margins they will naturally try to do so if only to remain in business.
