I recently fitted a new kick start shaft, now when I kick it over the back wheel rotates and the kickstart won't return properly.

I am restoring a basket case Commando and have purchased a used speedo. How do I set the odometer back to zero? Do I simply use an electric drill on the cable and turn it backwards for days on end?

Just trying to understand...
I know that on the Commando, the standard cam, the PW3 the 4S etc. all have different tappet gaps.
As the years go on, information fades away. There's the internet, of course, and it's great resource, but also a great pollutor with fact, opinion and fiction woven into each other.
For my race project, I've acquired a Norton Dominator front wheel with a SLS brake plate. However, for racing a TLS would be the minimum requirement I think.
The things you come across in our hobby are both frustrating and rewarding. Just when you think you've got one thing sorted, something else comes up. That's frustrating now, but when solved, it just adds to the satisfaction.
Could anyone advise me if a multi grade oil (Millers classic pistoneeze 20W50 would be ok to put in my M50 gearbox? .
