Single carb Commando

Forums

Hi, I've just fitted a single carb manifold and although it came with a fairly thickhead to manifold gasket there is no heat insulator. Is this going to be a problem?

Thanks Keith

Possibly. I have a single carb on my Atlas (which does have a fairly thin tufnol heat insulator gasket) and is the best modification I have made to the bike. Without a heat insulator, you do have the possibility of a vapour lock if the fuel in the carb gets too hot. Not too likely in the glorious British climate but it could occur when you are batting along in the south of France in summer.

Thanks Gordon

Any idea where I can get one? as I've not seen any in the normal parts supplier's catalogues.

Cheers keith
