pushrod repair

Forums

My Dominator pushrods have alloy shafts. Not sure if that is standard. One of the end caps is loose. Can this be safely repaired with Loctite? Grade?

I had the same problem and used bearing-to-shaft fixing sealant It hasn't given any problems I know about. They didn't fall off last time the head came off.I'd have to visit the shed to get the number. But I think they changed the product number anyway round about the time I bought it. It is red...David

Whether, or not, alloy pushrods are correct depends entirely on the year, and model. There is a post (under "Heavy Twins", giving the data for all models. Threadlock will probably do the trick, on the pushrod cap, unless there is really excessive slop.

If possible you can put a little knurling on the pushrod then loctite and press the end onto the pushrod. Belt AND braces.
