Re: Early '50's Single tube frame...(Model 7 &ES2)

Hi Chaps...I've searched for ages but cannot find the large front rubber mounting and the rear mounting highlighted on the attached drawing....(Link below)...About 6 months ago I drew up the a diagram with the dimensions for RGM but nothing came of it. has anyone information where I can source these please? I'm sure many would be sold worldwide if someone could produce a large batch of them so worthwhile to anyone I reckon...Smile

PS...Sizes shown on diagram must be verified as these are the best figures I could measure on what I had left of the originals...

Those rear ones look like standard Norton as used for decades. Same on my pre war 16H and 1963 Dominator. The usual suppliers should have them.If Norton parts suppliers dont have the front ones, have you tried Jeff Hunter? He has pretty much every bit of rubber from pretty much every British bike.

Hi David...Thanks for your suggestion...I've looked up the tele number for Jeff Hunter and will call him Monday. I'm not sure if he is associated with Wassell's, but I do know that Wassell don't have the big front rubber.By hunting around and carving up other rubber washers, I have conjured up a two piece version of the "top hat" rubber which might be OK.I'm surprised that this rubber isn't held by the club, there must be thousands of Nortons that use it and likely to need new ones....Thanks again.....Les

Seems odd to get so cross. If someone posts a message in the 'wrong place', then it surely does not matter except to the person who posted it - who might be a bit less likely to get an answer? So why make work by tidying things up? And as for spelling mistakes - if I went into apoplexy every time I heard the English Language being abused, I would had a fit by now. Once again - the only person who loses by it is the author - if what is written is difficult t to follow. And anyway - some of us sometimes post from small keyboards and our touch typing is less than perfect.
