Can anyone advise the best route to converting or changing Roadholder Forks to a Twin Disc setup.Understand one can change to Honda Forks but which type and or GSXR Forks but again which type or model should one go for.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Presumably, you are doing this for braking efficiency, 80s/90s big Japanese 4 stuff may be adaptable, fork yoke angle and width will be critical here too, possibly a classic racing forum may help or a specialist builder! For my Featherbed, I have already purchased a conical brake unit to fit in the full-width hub, if the 8" SLS is too hairy on modern roads!
Thanks for your advice John basically I want to improve the braking efficiency as you suggest but it also has to look right and blend in as it were.

Kawasaki Z series forks will give you a double disc set up, the Z650 up to 1100 cc stuff are pretty much identical i think for 77 through to about 83, the Z650 cradle, slightly, aped the Featherbed, I have both frames and was struck by some similarities!
Or you could go for a upmarket drum a TLS or 4 leading shoe job! The Commando TLS if not from RGM, with a strengthened hub is I believe rather weak in design!
I believe a 550 Suzuki front end has been grafted on to a Featherbed, do a perusal of Specialist builds on the web! Having said that disc never look right IMHO, but stopping is important too!

Suzuki GS750 twin disc for…
Suzuki GS750 twin disc forks should fit straight in. They are 35mm stanchions. I have some Yamaha custom 650 forks that I am considering using. Triumph Paoli twin discs are also worth looking at off of a Harris Bonneville. I have a set of these as well. Of course, Commando twins will do the job. Cost is the answer. Suzuki GT750 stuff is now Rocking Horse **** which was always first choice. If you use the yokes , then the shaft has to be one inch diameter, so bearings can be a problem. Triumph uses Trailer wheel bearings.

Hi Richard Just a reminder…
Hi Richard
Just a reminder that if youâre using Commando forks with either a disk or TLS to make sure that youâre using the slightly shorter stanchions required by the short roadholders designed for the featherbed frame? According to Mick Hemmings on the new NOC video it does impact their performance and steering geometry!

I can't believe that any contemporary Japanese disc brake would be an improvement -- single-sided callipers dependent on a hinge to provide any semblance of grip on the non-stick stainless discs; ugh!

I have a commando single disc front end on my Atlas, which works ok, but I don' like the look of it.i would like to go back to a tls drum brake. The commando forks were on the bike when I bought it.
