I am rebuilding a 1946mod18 and would like to ask if any one out thereknows what type of seals are used at the bottom of the pushrod tubes.
There is about1/8" of free play in the tube (up-down) when theretaining is screwed fully down so my option would be to use insertion rubber or cork.
Is this standard practice on these engines.
Also does anyone know where I can locate a 1" pair of handle bars to suitethe above as it is fitted with girders.

Many thanks Richard for the reply, it looks like o rings my be the answer so I might try this method first as I have plenty in the shed.
By the way I had a look at the pics and yes it appears we have very similar machines exept I have a smooth cover on the magdyno chain drive chamber.

Paul,
I use "O" rings under the push rod tubes with a bit of sealant. Just don't crush them right down with the nut and squeeze the "O" ring out. You should have no trouble finding "O" ring to suit from any auto parts or bearing supplier.
Bob
Thanks for that Bob
I will give them a try

Paul, do Armours still have 1" bars ? If not, perhaps Cornucopia (now in Germany still do ?). I assume that 1946 has the adjustable clamps rather than the pre-war anti-vibration monting ?
I think by the way that you need to scroll down a little further to see the 1946 Model 18. The other bike was photographed at a rally.
