Mk.lll Roadster battery cover

Could somebody with an un-messed with example tell me what the OE rear fixing was/is, please?

Mine currently has a plain hole in the rear face of the panel, which locates over a rubber sheathed peg on the bike, but the parts list shows a grommet for the hole, and a plain peg.

I'm currently 'dressing' an earlier panel to fit (two sets of bodywork in different colours) so would prefer to go 'original' with both if I can, but the illustration in the parts list doesn't look too clever either, with the top mounting hole on a protrusion near the front of the panel? (NOT like the earlier models with the extension piece, though).

Thank you...

hi

The rear fixing is just a grommet that fits onto a pin attached to the frame.

the bottom fixing is a rubber barrel shape grommet that tucks behind the z plate

the top fixing attaches to a bracket that comes off the black plastic airbox....

Thanks....

Neither of mine have the bottom fixing, but after five years it hasn't been missed yet, the top goes to a Norvil adapter as the black box is no more, but the back one did seem 'bodged', and I still would question the parts list illustration....
