Anyone have any ideas what could be causing the attached? I've tried to find out but simply don't have the expertise to nail it down.
You can see the oil on the studs between the fins. I'm thinking it could be from the cam box and going down the studs and the vibrations/running causes some to splash on the fins and the stuff that makes it to the bottom pools around the barrel/crack case join.
I've ruled out the leak coming from the crankcase/cylinder join because of the oil on the fins themselves... how would it get there if it came from here?
The pic is after a 12 mile run.

I thought I had dealt with…
I thought I had dealt with the cam box leak with some foam looped into the springs to absorb it.
I'll track it down, I mainly wanted to check if I should be worried about it or just deal with it.

In my opinion there is absolutely no need to be worried !
I do agree that the mess is very annoying.
A few things to consider:
Have you checked the size of the oil jet (it may be too big ?)
Have you checked the oil pressure to the cambox ?
Have you looked inside the cambox to check the seals ?
The lower seals has provision for adjustment (it may be time)
Maybe we should consider a therapy group for frustrated
cammy Norton owners...?

This is not worth a whole lot, but on mine it comes from the cambox.
After all it is designed to leak oil....
